EVENT DESCRIPTION:

The fifth debate of the project’s monitoring process “Implementation of a tsunami warning and alert system in the Tagus estuary” took place in Lisbon, at the premises of For Citizens | European Institute for Active Citizenship. This session aimed to disseminate to professionals from this institution the methodology proposed by the Civic Monitoring project, as well as make a presentation of the monitoring process in the course. The session was well attended, and it was possible to obtain more external data for the monitoring report. We could conclude in this session, that although the tsunami implementation project has had good technical results in terms of its implementation, it is a project that is still not known by the population, especially in the city of Lisbon. Regarding the monitoring methodology, the professionals from For Citizens | European Institute for Active Citizenship registered with enthusiasm the transfer of knowledge that was made, referring that it is of their interest to test the methodology within the scope of their activities that promote active citizenship.
