EVENT DESCRIPTION:
In the second meeting organised by DEMOSTENE Centro Studi, in order to monitor the Municipality of Milan’s project “New Urban Centralities in peripheral areas”, the facilitators, Emanuele and Monica, first of all presented what the Desk analysis and Field Work consists of, explaining how search for data and useful information to better understand the project in progress, how to contact the policy makers and the managers responsible for the implementation of the project, and how to carry out an interview; eventually they described how to carry out a visit to the places affected by the financed works.
Making an initial research on OpenCoesione and the other open data websites of the Regione Lombardia and the Municipality of Milan together, it was immediately evident that the data there had not been updated for over six months. An email was then drafted together to the councillor in charge of the Municipality’s open data publication, also asking their availability for an interview.
In the second part of the meeting, the participants were divided into seven groups, five of which organised the visit of one of the new “urban centralities” planned for the project, while two other groups were concentrated on identifying representatives of the municipality of Milan and MM spa (works contractor) possibly available for an interview.
Finally, there was an agreement to carry out the visits during December-January, so as to present the results in the third gathering.
